Shoot with Jules Knight at Stoke Park

Portraiture is my greatest love and working at a beautiful location with a great subject is a perfect combination for a great work day! I was lucky enough to be commissioned to shoot a range of imagery for the very talented Jules Knight for his forthcoming debut solo album: Change of Heart.

The day started with some studio style shots at Jules’ home and then quickly on to the stunning venue of Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire… a photographer’s dream! With columns, wood panelling, sweeping staircase and huge windows the choice of where to shoot was vast.

I should also mention that it was February, it was England and it was raining. So the choice was narrowed a little and we remained around The Mansion building. I called upon a range of light sources: natural, studio flash and off-camera flash, which provided a range of very different image styles. Jules has a look that can be very diverse, so we managed to get light, intense, and brooding…to name but a few. Here’s just a few images from the day:

Jules is funding his new album via Pledge Music with a range of opportunities for fans, including a photoshoot where I look forward to being part of the team. More information is on the Jules Knight PledgeMusic page here.

Anniversary in Paris

So after 30 years we finally chose to go to Paris for our anniversary celebration… It was chilly, but very welcoming. We walked everywhere and saw so much more. As it was a holiday trip my photography was once again with my compact and lightweight Canon G16. It was stretched to it’s limits on some dark days, but it was great to be in “tourist-mode”. Below is a selection that summarises what I saw – lots of great architecture alongside the world’s current obsession for the selfie. I wonder what Leonardo would make of it…
